About this Short Course

This Fundamentals of Java Security shows you how to secure your Java applications on levels ranging from language and class library to virtual machine and application. The tutorial examines the security-related features of the JDK 1.1 and 1.2 architecture, and the API-level features of the Java Cryptography Architecture (JCA). The tutorial also covers ways in which you can extend browser privileges to break out of the Java sandbox to use a variety of popular browsers.

About the Authors

John Zukowski is a Software Mage with MageLang Institute. He is the author of Mastering Java 1.2, Java AWT Reference, and Borland JBuilder: No Experience Required. John also serves as the Focus on Java Guide at The Mining Co.

Tim Rohaly has spent the past three years as a trainer, consultant, and writer specializing in Java technology for MageLang Institute. He has practical experience in many areas of computing, including security. He is particularly interested in 3D graphics, networking, and embedded hardware/software development. Tim is a contributing author to Late Night VRML 2.0 with Java, and Mastering Java.
