Product and Technology Releases

The following J2EE products and technologies were recently released:

JSR-141 Session Description Protocol (SDP) API 1.0 Proposed Final Draft
The IETF protocol SDP specifies messages that describe multimedia sessions and are included within other protocol messages as payload. The API will enable users to manipulate SDP messages.

JSR-114 JDBC Rowset Implementations 1.0.1 Maintenance Release
Java API providing implementations of the JDBC Rowset interface.

JSR-212 Server API for Mobile Services: Messaging 1.0 Final Release
Defines a protocol-agnostic messaging API for composing, sending and receiving short messages and multimedia messages. It provides a client API to Short Message Service (SMS) and Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) servers.

Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 Early Draft Review
The purpose of EJB 3.0 is to improve the EJB architecture by reducing its complexity from the developer's point of view.

JSR-243 Java Data Objects 2.0 Early Draft Review
The high level objectives are to make JDO easier to use, more closely align JDO with J2EE, standardize JDO's support of relational databases, and broaden the scope of JDO to include more vendor persistence architectures

JSR-223 Scripting Pages in Java Web Applications 1.0 Early Draft Review
Describes mechanisms allowing scripting language programs to access information developed in the Java Platform and allowing scripting language pages to be used in Java server-side apps.
