The following J2SE products and technologies were recently released:
JSR 201 Extending the Java Programming Language with Enumerations, Autoboxing, Enhanced for loops and Static Import Specification 1.0 Proposed
Proposes four new Java programming language features: enumerations, autoboxing, enhanced for loops and static import.
JSR 014 Add Generic Types to the Java Programming Language Specification 1.0 Proposed Final Draft
Extending the Java programming language with generic types (aka parameterized types).
JSR 094 Java Rule Engine API 1.0 Final Release
Defines a Java runtime API for rule engines.
JSR 206 Java API for XML Processing (JAXP) 1.3 Proposed Final Draft
JAXP 1.3 is the next version of JAXP, an implementation-independent portable API for processing XML with Java.
JSR 200 Network Transfer Format for Java Archives PFD 4
Defines a dense download format for Java classfiles. It is expected that this format can achieve considerable size savings over compressed JAR files.
JSR 174 Monitoring and Management Specification for the Java Virtual Machine 1.0 Proposed Final Draft
A specification for APIs for monitoring and management of the Java virtual machine.
JSR 175 A Metadata Facility for the Java Programming Language Proposed Final Draft 2
A metadata facility for the Java Programming Language would allow classes, interfaces, fields, and methods to be marked as having particular attributes.
NetBeans IDE 4.0 Beta 1 Now Available
The NetBeans IDE provides a pure Java technology development environment for Windows, Linux, the Solaris Operating System and Mac OS X.
