The J2EE Patterns Book: Core J2EE Patterns by Sun Microsystems Press

In this soon-to-be-published book under the J2EE series, three senior Sun Java Architects from the Sun Java Center share with the reader this organization's cumulative J2EE design experience and expertise.

This hands-on design manual includes a complete catalog of J2EE Patterns that encapsulate the best design approaches to common J2EE design problems, categorized by presentation tier, business tier and integration tier.

The book also discusses best practices for designing J2EE-based solutions as well as bad practices, which should be avoided. A detailed discussion on design considerations for JSPs, Servlets, and EJBs is included in a separate chapter.

Finally the book concludes with an end-to-end multi-tier sample case study application demonstrating the use of the J2EE patterns catalog. The authors walk you through the case study from requirements to analysis to design to implementation and demonstrate the techniques to recognize and apply the J2EE patterns and best practices from the book.

This book will help you avoid the common pitfalls, design and develop your application rapidly.

The book is authored by three Senior Sun Java Architects - Dan Malks, Deepak Alur and John Crupi, also Chief Java Architect for the Sun Java Center.
