Migration Tool for the Sun Java System Application Server

The Migration Tool for the Sun Java System Application Server can be used to automate the migration of J2EE/Java EE applications to the Sun Java System Application Server.

Migration is accomplished through the following means:

• Migration of the deployment descriptors
• Runtime support for selected custom JavaServer Pages (JSP) tags and proprietary APIs
• Conversion of selected configuration parameters with equivalent functionality in the Sun Java System Application Server
• Automatic generation of Ant-based scripts for building and deploying the migrated application to the target application server

The Migration Tool supports the migration of applications to the Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition from the following source application servers:

    
- BEA WebLogic Server 8.x, 6.x and 5.x
- WebSphere Application Server Version 5.x and 4.x    
- JBoss 3.x
- Apache Tomcat 4.x   
- Reference Implementations based on J2EE 1.3 and J2EE 1.4
- Sun Java System Application Server 7 and 8
- Sun ONE Application Server 6.5 and 6.0
- Sun ONE Web Server 6.x
