These documents are the Portable Document Format (PDF) and PostScript^TM (PS) versions of their HTML counterparts included in the Java 2 SDK documentation. PDF and PS are more suitable for printing multiple page documents than HTML.

These versions are offered as a convenience for those documents that are authored in FrameMaker -- it is not a complete set of the SDK documentation. The official, complete set is available only in HTML at SDK documentation. If you use the HTML version of the documentation, it is not necessary to download these files.

Note: Some of the PDF and PS files below may not have been updated to reflect the features and functionality in the latest Java 2 SDK release.

These documents require either a PostScript viewer (for PS) or Acrobat Reader (for PDF). You can download an Acrobat Reader from Adobe for free from the Acrobat Reader download page.

When you download these files, it does not matter which local directory you save them to, since there are no links to them from the HTML SDK documentation.
