What's New in NetBeans Enterprise Pack 5.5

NetBeans Enterprise Pack 5.5 provides the following new capabilities that were not present in the Early Access release.

• XML, WSDL, and BPEL refactoring
• BPEL validation support for design time
• Enhanced WSDL designer
• Liberty support for identity-enabled services
• Improved installer for selecting installation features

In addition, NetBeans Enterprise Pack 5.5 improves on the features made available in the previous Early Access release, which include:

• SOA visual design tools for architects and programmers - Write, test and debug service-oriented architecture (SOA) applications using XML, BPEL-based web service orchestration, Java web services modeling and creation.
  
  
  • XML Schema tools - Create, visualize, and edit XML schema. Visualize the relationships between schema elements. Use queries find usages and find unused global components. Schema creation wizards.
  • BPEL Designer, visual editor for BPEL and WSDL - Author, build, deploy, and test BPEL processes. Includes a full two-way editor; BPEL runtime engine integrated with Sun Java System Application Server 9; creation of loosely coupled, service-based composite applications for SOA; full two-way round-trip designer; full process debugging integrated into NetBeans debugger.
  • Support for BPEL 2.0 constructs.
  • Composite application project that allows you to create loosely coupled, service-based composite applications for SOA.
  • The BPEL Engine running as a service engine in a JBI environment that is delivered in Sun Java Application Server.
  
  
• Identity Management Features - Develop secure, identity-enabled web services, leveraging the Access Manager runtime that is delivered in Sun Java Application Server.
  
  
  • Interoperable secure web services development via the use of WSI-BSP token profiles.
  • Federated web services development conforming to Liberty specifications.
  • All the required runtime infrastructure, including Access Manager and providers based on JSR 196 specifications, as well as Sun Application Server, are installed and fully configured as part of the NetBeans Enterprise Pack installation.
  
  
• UML Modeling - Bring enterprise-grade applications faster to market or implementation with rapid architecture and design.
