Most of the sessions at the JavaOne conference are in the format
of a speaker addressing an audience of listeners, but the JavaOne
Camp breaks from the norm and provides an environment in which
developers can brainstorm ideas with their peers.
JavaOne Camp is an opportunity for the community to take an active
role in helping shape and define the future of the Java platform,
in an "unconference" format, in which individual Java technology
developers can voice their ideas and opinions with peers about how
the platform needs to adapt as a result of changes in the industry,
in the community, and on the web. It is an ideal opportunity to
network, to share, and to provide insight as well as to participate
in the evolution of the platform.
To register for JavaOne Camp, visit the camp home
page, and fill out the registration page. You must be a registered
Conference attendee to participate.
Next, visit the wiki's discussion proposal page to see what
discussions have already been proposed and add some topics of your
own. The actual agenda doesn't get determined until the event, when
JavaOne Camp attendees can announce to the group the subjects of
discussions they would like to lead. Detailed instructions for
logging into the wiki and creating new pages -- such as user profile
pages -- are provided within the JavaOne Camp web site.
Lastly, use your RSS reader at the wiki's RSS feed to view any
changes that others make and new profile pages they add to the wiki.
