The Java Beans APIs are also closely related to other new Java core APIs which are described in separate documents.

• "The Java Core Reflection API". This describes reflection APIs being added to Java to support analyzing the fields and methods of objects.

• "Java Object Serialization". This describes the Java Object Serialization APIs.

• "AWT Enhancements". These web pages describe extensions that are being added to AWT, notably for uniform data transfer.

• "Remote Method Invocation". This describes the Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) mechanisms for distributed programming.

• "Java IDL". This describes the Java mapping to the industry standard CORBA IDL system.

• "Manifest file specification". A JAR file consists of a normal ZIP format file that can optionally contain a decriptive manifest file.
