2.0 API Guide
Java Media Framework API Guide NOTE: The latest JMF 2.1.1 release does not change the JMF 2.0 API; it only updates Sun's implementation of the API. The 2.0 items discussed in this guide will work with JMF 2.1.1.

2.0 API Download
The JMF 2.1.1 release is an implemenation update, i.e. the implementation has new updates and fixes, but uses the same API as defined in JMF 2.0, which is why the following links are shown as "JMF 2.0".

1.0 API
The Java Media Framework API (JMF) is an application programming interface for incorporating audio, video and other time-based media into Java applications and applets. The 1.0 API focuses on the playback of streaming and stored media, i.e. supports the synchronization, control, processing and presentation of such media. JMF is an optional package which extends the multimedia capabilities on the Java platform.
