JavaHelp software is a full-featured, platform-independent, extensible help system that enables developers and authors to incorporate online help in applets, components, applications, operating systems, and devices. JavaHelp is a free product and the binaries for JavaHelp are redistributable. Details on the terms and conditions can be found in the JavaHelp license agreement. Installation has been tested using Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition, on Win32 and Solaris operating platforms. Installation Notes JavaHelp software can be installed by extracting the software from the Zip archive. It can be installed on any operating system. Prior installations of JavaHelp must be removed before installing this release of JavaHelp. NOTE: In most cases the user will be able to use jhindexer and jhsearch directly. However, if an error messages instructing the user to set JAVAHELP_HOME, create an environment variable JAVAHELP_HOME that contains the path to the folder in which you installed the JavaHelp software.
