J2ME Personal Profile Runtime Environment

This is the binary release of the J2ME Personal Profile Runtime Environment. This runtime environment provides an implemention of the Personal Profile specification for a Linux-based x86/PC test environment.

This binary release contains a Java virtual machine with an interpreter-only runtime and is intended for research and development purposes only. Optimized versions of the J2ME Personal Profile Runtime Environment are available under separate commercial license.

System Requirements

• Intel 686-compatible, 200 MHz
• Linux 2.2 kernel, or greater (tested on Redhat Linux 7.2)
• 4 MB available RAM
• 4 MB free disk or flash file system

Installation

1. Download the Zip archive.

2. Unzip the Zip archive:

   % unzip j2me_pp-1_0-bin-linux-i686.zip
   

3. Run a demo application:
