The Java WSDP 2.0 release provides developer choice and flexibility by supporting several Web containers that can be used for development free of charge. These include the Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.1 Update 2 Platform Edition, Tomcat 5.0 for Java WSDP, and the open-source GlassFish Application Server.

Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.1 Update 2
The Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8 is the first compatible "production grade" implementation of the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) 1.4 specification.

Tomcat 5.0 for Java WSDP
Tomcat 5.0 for Java WSDP is a Web container based upon Tomcat 5.0.19 that implements the Java Server Pages 2.0 and Java Servlet 2.4 specifications. This version of Tomcat closely mirrors the Web container provided in Sun Java System Application Server 8.1 Platform Edition. (Note that the document about Tomcat 5.0 and Java WSDP refers to Java WSDP 1.5 but also applies to more current versions of Java WSDP.)
Open-Source GlassFish Application Server
The GlassFish project is developing an open-source Java EE 5 application server, and Java WSDP 2.0 is designed to work with this software. Get involved!
