The Java Web Services Developer Pack (Java WSDP) is a free integrated
toolkit that allows Java developers to build and test XML applications,
Web services, and Web applications with the latest Web services technologies
and standards implementations. Technologies in Java WSDP include the Java
APIs for XML, Java Architecture for XML Binding (JAXB), JavaServer Faces,
Web Services Interoperability Sample Application, XML and Web Services
Security, JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library (JSTL), Java WSDP Registry
Server, Ant Build Tool, and Apache Tomcat container. For fully supported,
enterprise-class products incorporating Java Web Services technologies, we
recommend Sun
Java Studio Enterprise and
Sun Java System Application Server.

This release of the Java Web Services Developer Pack has been tested with
various configurations with the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition, versions
1.4.1_xx and 1.4.2_xx on the following platforms:
- Sun Solaris Operating Environment 8 and 9, and Sun Solaris 9 for X86
- Windows 2000 Professional Edition
- Windows XP Professional Edition
- RedHat Linux 8.0
Java Web Services Developer Pack v1.3 - Now supports WS-I Basic Profile 1.0!
The Tomcat and Ant documentation are now provided as a separate download
in order to reduce the Java Web Services Developer Pack download size.
